Lisa M. Buske My book, "Where's Heidi?" is written as a testimony of my faith, returning to a faith in God after the kidnapping of my younger and only sister, Heidi Allen. It is written to help others know there can be hope and positives in life after the loss of a sibling.
Lisa M. Buske My most recent book, "Goal Setting for a Renewed You: Because You Deserve It!" started as a conversation with my Mom as we talked about goal setting and it blossomed into my most recent publication.
Lisa M. Buske I find inspiration in many places, on my blog, http://LisaMBuske.com, some of my readers' favorite blogs came to me while pulling weeds in the garden or taking a walk. My inspiration is rooted in my faith and I think it's my outlook of finding the good and positives around me that inspire me and I try to share these with my readers.
Lisa M. Buske I have many ideas and folders in my writing files but I'm hoping to have the next book in the "Where's Heidi?" line of books. "Where's Heidi? One Sister's Journey" started as a solo book but as it went into its final edits and I talked with my Mom, we realized there are at least a couple more books that could follow. I don't know if it will be titled "Where's Heidi?" with a new subtitle or a different title, but it is the next book about how my sister's kidnapping over twenty years ago affected my life and who I am today.
Lisa M. Buske My advice for aspiring writers is TO WRITE!! Don't overthink your writing, don't talk about writing, and don't dream about writing, JUST DO IT!
Lisa M. Buske The best part of being a writer is that its something I can do no matter where I am and use whatever tools I have. I've written ideas and blogs on napkins, back of place mats, and on multiple sticky notes because that's what was handy. To be a writer brings joy and healing, all at the same time.
Lisa M. Buske My favorite thing to do when I'm not sure what to write or where to start is to get outside. I do my most productive writing once I can sit out on my deck and after a good walk. The fresh air and being outside seems to connect me closer to God and this helps clear away whatever thoughts or stress might be slowing the writing process.
