Hi Susan, I'm glad you've been enjoying Angela. I would certainly like to write more books about her, but I'm not sure when it will be as I don't write as fast as I used to! Let's call it a "vague plan" rather than a promise.

Hi Charles
I don't have any particular plans to bring them back. I sent them off into the sunset to lick their wounds and get on with their lives without my interference, but I like to think they picked themselves up eventually and moved on to better things. :-)

Hi, you can find a full explanation at the link below. It's a longish read, so if you'd prefer the short version, it's best summed up as, "It seemed like a good idea at the time." :-)

(view spoiler)[Hi, I have just completed reading 'The riddle at the Gipsy's Mile' (minutes ago) and I have to say I enjoyed it very much, Thank You for that and I hope to get the next one asap. I was wondering if Lucy is really innocent or maybe have had some part in the murder and forced Alice to write her confession thereby saving Gil and also making sure she gets the estate? (view spoiler)[Hi Balaji, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I don't see Lucy as innocent - I think she cleaned the place up after Lita died, possibly in unspoken cahoots with Lady Alice, but I don't think she forced Lady Alice to write the confession. I see the two of them as unwilling allies in the same cause. (hide spoiler)]

Hi, I'm glad you're enjoying the books! I'm not sure where Barbara sprang from - I think she's one of those characters I sometimes get who turn up and make themselves at home without much input from me (Freddy Pilkington-Soames is another one). I have occasionally considered putting her in her own series once she's matured a bit, but I don't have any firm plans. It's partly a question of whether I feel I can continue writing stories in this milieu with this group of characters without people (or me) getting tired of them!

Hi Ann,
Good question! You might have seen that I've been branching out a bit lately (mainly with my new pen name Antonia Frost), and The Lucases of Lucas Lodge was an early experiment in that respect. I took down the book because I felt I wasn't aiming it at the right readership, and because I decided I'd prefer my Clara Benson pen name to be known for just the one genre, mysteries.
I haven't quite decided what to do with The Lucases, but it's possible I might republish it under a completely different pen name further down the line. I'm not planning to write any more of the same in the near future, as I'd like to concentrate on Clara and Antonia for now. However, if I do write any more Regency stories at a later date I won't base them around Jane Austen characters, but will make them completely original.
I hope that answers your question :-)

I must admit to a little disa Hello and thank you for your answer - I wasn't ignoring you, I just did not realise you had been kind enough to answer :)
I must admit to a little disappointment as I enjoyed the book so much and I had hoped there were more to come . However, I do have some of your mystery titles on my TBR list so will content myself with those and hope the P&P characters keeps whispering at you to write them back into life again.
All the best
