Katja Michael It's summer. I live in an attic apartment.
Katja Michael All the years after the publication of my first novel, I could never quite shake the feeling that it wasn't the work I was capable of creating. So I sat down once again with a fresh mind and renewed enthusiasm, and above all in my native language, to revisit the story of Melissa and Laila, and I have now shaped it into something that can stand the test of time. A story that is now exactly how I always wanted it to be.
Katja Michael Several things: Short stories, poetry and some romance novels. But the most profound work is my new Young Adult Dystopian LGBT novel which will hopefully be finished in the first half of 2017.
Katja Michael Don't ever stop editing and rereading your stuff. Good writing needs time to grow and, like most things, it takes practice to get better. Katja Michael After I've stopped complaining about writer's block, I try to remind myself that writer's block is mostly more of a writer's laziness and then I go to a different piece of my writing and try to work on that instead.
Katja Michael I usually get inspired by every day life and reading. The best things come to me when I'm not at my desk and I'm out on the streets. That's why I always have a notebook and pen with me.
