I --- I usually drive myself insane.
When writer's block hit I start to fixate on it, on why I can't get past the point I'm at or what's stopping me. I fixate on it until I drive my wife nuts. Then I have a drink - or twenty - and then I normally end up deleting something and go from there.
I met Terry Brooks at Hal-Con one year and he said that writer's block means you're character has taken a wrong turn somewhere. Go back and set him/her on the right course.
Best advice I've heard. Beats drinking and going insane.
