Wow. Forgive me for taking this long to answer. I've been inactive on Goodreads for a long time, just now returning.
LOL, when I think about your question, I'm reminded of an old Cary Grant movie; Arsenic and Old Lace. Now, I'm no killer but the silliness combined with the serious question posed within that movie of, "is murder ever justified?" kind of sums up my life.
Sometimes, I really do look around half expecting a camera crew to jump out and tell me I'm being pranked. Other times, I feel as if I'm literally invisible--especially when driving.
My books--two through 8--feature two little old ladies that run a bakery. While they're not killers either, or very much like the old ladies in the movie mentioned above, I do think I had the ladies from Arsenic and Old Lace in the back of my mind when I wrote them.
As for if there's anything going on in my life that could inspire a plot for a mystery--probably not. :) And that's a good thing.

The woman stared in shock and horror, no, she thought, it can't be.
But it was true, the coffee pot was broken.

I know I should choose a book world, but the first place I thought of was Eureka. Eureka was a tv show about a fictional city inhabited by super smart geniuses. In the town was a café where you could order anything you wanted, anything. I guess I love to eat, so I'd probably spend my day eating. :)

I'm actually reading a book my son recommended, set in medieval times. It's a series, Ranger's Apprentice, The Ruins of Gorlan. Just started, but so far I like it.
Also, just finished reading, for the fourth time, the Hunger Games trilogy.

This is an easy question. :) Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy of course. I've read Price and Prejudice countless times and I've watched the mini-series (with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle) countless times.
Jane Austen is my favorite author.
