Just write anything. Magical things happen when I create a sentence. But I try and stop writing in the middle of developing a thought or scene so I know where I am going when I come back to it.

Read a lot - a LOT! in the genre you want to write in (sorry about the preposition!). Then just sit down and write. Doesn't have to be perfect - that's why there is a delete key! Write a sentence and then another one. Have a friend read.

An idea will pop into my head at odd times. Then I rush to the computer. Most times I just sit down and start typing - sometimes it takes off and sometimes it doesn't.

The ideas for the next book in the series come while I'm writing the current one - thankfully! The fourth idea didn't come until late in the third book and I was worried!
