Ann Steele Thanks for that question! I've actually considered doing that, ever since I finished writing The Photograph. It had great characters and ended suitable to be the first book in a series. I'm currently in the middle of writing a new book (unrelated) but when that's finished I think I'll revisit the characters in The Photograph.
Ann Steele As Sarah sat watching TV before bed, a news alert popped up on the screen, along with a picture, of a psychopath who had escaped from the insane asylum. She jumped, her skin crawling, as a thick, sweaty voice whispered in her ear, "That's a pretty good likeness, wouldn't you say?"
Ann Steele To coin a phrase, just do it! Before I wrote my first novel, I had the idea for the story running around in my head for a long time. This may sound silly but one day it occurred to me: this story will not write itself. So I sat down and started writing and haven't looked back since!
Ann Steele An imagination is a wonderful, unique thing and to be able to use that imagination to create characters, situations, even places is a tremendously satisfying feeling. Nothing I write can be wrong; it's a story made up by me and my imaginings. That's quite liberating. I love to read and I appreciate the talents of other writers and to be a part of that world is spectacular!
Ann Steele I've experienced this frustrating issue a few times in the fifteen-plus years I've been writing fiction. What works best for me is to not try and force it. I'll continue to think about the story and how I want it to progress, but I avoid trying to write it. I also keep reading. Eventually I'm able to break through my block and get back to writing.

Ann Steele I'm currently putting the final touches on a novel entitled "Staring Down the Devil" that I hope to upload as an e-book by the end of July/first of August. It's the story of a young girl, Ellie Fischer, growing up in Germany during World War II whose parents are persuaded to take political refugees into their home and the consequences of their selfless act of kindness that drastically change Ellie's life forever.
