I have always had a yearning to be an explorer in the 18th or 19th century, when the world still seemed impossibly vast and there were many wonderful unknown places to explore and get lost in. It was a time when moving just a few miles you could adopt a different personality and no one would know. I guess if I had the choice it would be something like popping up in one of the worlds in a Jules Verne novel, the short I read as a child, and setting out as an explorer.

Lots of philosophy books as I'm about to start studying again. Apart from that a variety of novels and one biography. So as usual a varied lot.

To be honest I have no constant precepts and maxims that guide me. I have some for a period of time and then I find new ones which overtake the old ones. Examples:
