I wish I could say I was one of those writers who simply MUST WRITE, no matter what. The truth is that I love working with a finished piece, so I suffer through the early drafts of books. I'm motivated by the feeling of finishing a book, going through the production process, seeing the new cover, and getting it into the hands of readers. I get ideas from everywhere--once you're looking for them, they're easy to find.

My upcoming release started as a short story idea...I was trying to put something together for my publisher's Valentine's Day anthology. After I got into it, I realized that it could be a full-length novel. It's about two bakers who met on the set of a reality show. A few years ago, my bunco group and I were featured on the Lifetime Network's docudrama about the World Championship of Bunco. It was an incredibly fun and exciting experience, but I got a little insight into how networks edit footage to create content. Much of what viewers saw either didn't happen, or at least didn't happen the way it was portrayed.
