(view spoiler)[Where is my grandson? This question would make an excellent mystery thriller, perhaps much like the movie, Big Jake, but not in the western genre and not a kidnapping. (hide spoiler)]

I enjoy problem-solving, and that's how I approach "writer's block". For me, writing is like putting together pieces in a puzzle. It's not a matter of "writer's block", but of which piece do I pick up and run with. After that, one piece links to another, and before I know it, everything falls into place and the puzzle becomes a "picture". . . in the case of writing, the words become a book or an article.

There's nothing like the freedom from working for someone else. I'm an entrepreneur by nature. I naturally have the self-discipline and the work ethic necessary to be successful. This is not the only profitable business I've owned in my career. My books and websites are like my employees. I publish a book or an article and they are pounding the streets, forever, drumming up new business, and bring new customers and income to the business. It's really an amazing phenomenon.

Practice, Practice, Practice. Starting a blog or a website is a great way to hone your writing skills. But, start these out right . . . use SiteSell.com. Then, spit at your fear, and get self-published. The first book is the hardest because the learning curve is steep. After that it gets easier. There's no immediate gratification, you're investing in your future . . . never, ever, give up . . . if you stick to it, no matter what, your dreams can come true.

I'm completing the second edition of "Road Trip Explore! Oregon--Molalla River Corridor & Table Rock Wilderness", re-branding it to match my website, RoadTripExplore.com. At the same time, I'm finishing up the first draft of my third book in the Road Trip Explore! series . . . which will be published sometime Fall 2015.

For me writing is not about "inspiration", it's my chosen profession. I have a regular writing schedule, and a task list, just like when I worked as an employee in my former career. It's all about discipline and habit. After a time, it all becomes "automatic". What keeps writing interesting and exciting is all the different subject matter I get to explore . . . you know, the stuff I love!

Getting ideas for books is never a problem for me. It's that there are so many of them, and not enough time in the day to turn them into published books! For the "Road Trip Explore!" series, it's all about location, location, location. When I'm in God's country, does what I see and experience tell a story that will make the world a better place for someone else, in some way.
