Hi Dillon, I came across Jaxon’s Journey and was really touched by the story behind it. I noticed you said you never thought you’d write a book until Jaxon’s journey changed everything. What finally inspired you to put the experience into words?

Dillon Wheatley I honestly never planned on writing a book. I remember being that scared dad sitting alone in a hospital room because my wife had just given birth and was on the other side of the hospital recovering in her own room. I was watching our newborn son face something no parent ever wants to imagine, and I remember exactly how alone and helpless that felt. I started writing as a way to tell our story and process everything we were going through. My mother-in-law kept telling me I was a great writer and that maybe I could use our experience to help other people. So I finally listened to her lol, and man was she right! Jaxon’s Journey became so much bigger than I ever expected. If our story can reach even one scared mom or dad sitting in a hospital room and remind them that they aren’t alone, then every word was worth writing.
