M.K. Wiseman I'm torn on whether I wish there were a mystery in my life that would make a good plot for a book (as it would make penning such stories far easier 😅)
or
if I'm actually quite glad to note that my life appears to be mystery-free. 😊
M.K. Wiseman Ooh! Well, that has set me to thinking a fair bit. Thank you. :)
I think that 'Fatewreaker' (forthcoming book 3 of 'The Bookminder' series) has been the hardest book for me to write. Even having meticulously planned the arc of the whole story from day one, actually setting out to write within such a tight corner has proven challenging. Atop that, this one has been more emotional for me than the others because of how much I love these wizards and how much I love the people I work with on producing this series. Each step closer to 'The End' has me dragging my feet a little so that I can delay inevitable goodbyes.
M.K. Wiseman Thanks for the enthusiasm! I'm blushing! :-)
And yes, I cannot abandon those wizards hanging where they've been left at the end of book two. From the start, I envisioned this as a trilogy. As for when book 3 releases..... I've been working at it day and night but haven't an actual release date set. Again, thanks!
M.K. Wiseman My answer to this is a dangerous one.... For I greatly enjoy sitting at home by the fire with a warm cuppa. And so, to have a long holiday in The Shire would be a treat indeed. But, considering the sometimes tumultuous history of Middle Earth at large and a hobbit's tendency to not look far past their own front door, I could see my wish as having a potential downside: I'd hate to be in the midst of second breakfast and find a wizard or company of dwarves come knocking.
That and I might simply be too tall for a hobbit hole.
M.K. Wiseman Man, I feel a shameless plug coming on but I really cannot avoid it if I want to be honest...

First off, I always used to love the relationship between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy--- to this day, I still skip ahead when reading P&P, just to make sure they turn out alright. Yes, the book has not changed. Yes, they are together in the end. But the tension and heartache between the front and back covers is so delicious.

Here's where my shameful admission comes in: My latest and greatest fav fictional couple are my own Nagarath and Liara. They satisfy something within me, which I suppose is a total cheat when you consider that I was able to fine tune their relationship to my specifications. But the result is simply that they are my favorite couple. Done and done. (And kinda weird, yes.)
M.K. Wiseman I'm a New Mexico girl and we get the occasional jackalope down that way, too!
I've been on-and-off working on a steampunk western set outside of Santa Fe, NM Territory. Hadn't thought there would be any jackalope involvement but now that you say it, it's tempting. :)
(And now I have to plug Charles De Lint's most excellent "Medicine Road" -- if you haven't read it you're missing out! Actually, I've never met a story of his I didn't love.)
M.K. Wiseman Book 2 of "Bookminder" --- and Book 3, technically.
Got a working title of "Spellpiercer" ... keep a weather eye out. More details coming!
M.K. Wiseman Simple. I had an idea that I wished there was a book for. So I figured I'd better make it. ;)
