I think it is having an idea and letting it slowly develop and take shape.Then, if you are lucky it starts to become this entity with a life of its own. I also love developing charaters and facing them with different dilemas to see what happens. You may guess from this that I don't do a lot of detailed planning before I start!

I know the kind of books I like to read and usually the initial idea is based around one character or one event and then it grows from there. So far my books have also tended to be based in the area where I live or the area i grew up in. Sometimes it is a particular place that gets the idea started.

Just published a young adult Thriller - Eternal Inheritance and now it's back to work on the final book in the Troubled times Series, Earth's Descent. It concludes the storylines from books 1 and 2 and again is aimed at young adult market.
