My writer's what??
The day I can't write, I sleep. It'll come back eventually. I think a lot of writers expect to make a perfect book on the first attempt, but that's not the case. I write from the ground up, the first draft is awful. But just like a house, it's a foundation (though not a very beautiful one), the second draft will have some cement. By the third draft, it's got walls. By the fourth and fifth, it's looking more like a mansion and finally, I can move in and decorate. So in other words...allow the first draft to just be a draft, let it stink, that's what the editing process is for.

My most recent book(s) is Erosions (Fortress, the sequel will be released together with Erosions).
The idea for Erosions (like most of my ideas for my stories) comes from a conflict that's real and really happening and maybe my prospective is different from the norm.
Galen is a nobleman's son, and he is in line to take on the estate. The world seems to be falling apart around him, yet he's expected to stay right there and try to hold it all together. So what do you do when your home is about to crumble, do you run or do you stay?
I live in Japan, and just north of all of us, is a big 'boo-boo' that no one talks about it anymore. So that's my erosion and as I have family, I have to decide whether I eventually run or stay, too.
Erosions has more complicated areas to touch on, but overall, it's about taking safety in broken things.

I form a well-rounded character...and then I break him/her.

If you can do anything but write, do that other thing. But if you really can't stop, then slow it, control it, and make sure you're the one in control of how your craft influences your life.
Don't ever shy away from a critique, don't ever shy away from giving an honest critique either. Ultimately, all aspects of life comes with highs and lows, so by avoiding the negative, you're living in a bubble. Learn from it.

Realizing what you're capable of.

I'm working on the rewrite for Fortress: The Careless II. I hope to release both books together. Maybe with an extra.
