Christina Varrasso Years ago I read "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron which teaches writers to write "morning pages." Every morning, before I do anything else, I sit down and write 3 pages of my thoughts. Morning pages are a form of meditation in that you write down whatever comes to mind. You don't have to punctuate, use proper grammar, or write about anything in particular. You just allow your thoughts to pour onto the page. By doing this I often unblocked my writer's block while writing "Running for Yellow."
Christina Varrasso For months, while thinking about starting work on "Running for Yellow," I kept having a recurring dream of arriving late for my English Literature class without a term paper that was due. I think this recurring dream was the inspiration for beginning the writing process. What kept me writing was a desire to see the finished product.
Christina Varrasso Hi Diamond,
I didn't realize I rated it at all! Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'll try to remove the rating.
Thank you so much for asking the question!
Christina
