The idea for my novel, FISSURES, hit me like a bold out of the blue. I don't even recall where I was at the time. When it struck me, it did so with such clarity, I sat down and had the synopsis written in about fifteen minutes.

Currently, I'm working on a novel exploring the impact an abusive upbringing has on two brothers. It's told through the eyes of one of the brothers and looks into the immediate and long-term effects of their childhoods.

Sometimes I go back to read the story leading up to where I'm having difficulty, sometimes I will go back and edit previous parts of the story. Sometimes I walk away, leaving the writing until I've had a chance to clear my head.
