Hello Mr Snyder, Thanks for getting in touch. I apologise, but I only take review requests for c17-related works and am approximately five months behind with those. I wish you all the best with your book - sounds really interesting! With best wishes, Andrea

Hello! No, although I am interested in all aspects of 17th-century history, I specialise in Stuart Britain. Thanks for your question, I hope you have a good day.

Hi! I'm not sure what you mean. Do you refer to how I cite my previous work in new books? The same way I do the work of others. If you mean, how do I organise the documents I use for my books, I use Evernote, which I can tag and organise my work as I go along. When I am working on a book, I cite everything in the text, and it's up to the publisher to either keep it in that format or change it to another format, such as footnotes, endnotes, etc. I hope this answers your question! Best wishes, Andrea

I'm working my way through a loooong backlog of fiction and nonfiction about the seventeenth century, along with a few others that have piqued my interest. I had given my word to several authors that I would read and review their books, but due to writing nonstop with tight deadlines, I didn't have a chance until now. It's wonderful to be a reader again. :)

Hello! I'm sorry you're having trouble writing, but if you already have a story in your head, or something you feel you wish to express - just start writing! Don't overanalyze what's coming out, just do it. That might be all it takes to get the ball rolling. Good luck to you! :)

The best thing about being a writer is being able to tell the stories of people who lived long ago. I feel so privileged to write about the 17th-century - I have to constantly learn and research the people of that time in order to bring their stories to life. I love the hours I have to spend in the archives and planning out the structure of the book. There are hard times; moments of self-doubt when the task before you can seem insurmountable, but in the end, it's all worth it.

Hi Brett! It's definitely something I want to do - a full-length biographical novel about the Duke of Monmouth's life up until the events of "His Last Mistress". That will have to wait, though - I'm afraid! But, I *am* working on a fictional story that splinters off from the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685 which will be available as part of an anthology with other 17th/18th century authors later this year! Thanks for your question!

I get a little fed up with people who say you have to take "creative writing" to be a writer. No, you don't. What I would instead suggest is read a wide variety of genres and writing styles and find your own voice and your way of telling a story. I don't buy the cookie-cutter approach to writing. Write with all your heart and it work hard.

I'm currently working on a nonfiction history work presently entitled "Sex and Sexuality in Stuart Britain" and it should be published by Pen and Sword in 2019!

History inspires me. There are so many stories from the 17th-century, that I come across from time to time, that really take a hold of me. I love lesser-known historical figures as well, and the mystery about their lives is thrilling. The fact that I can write story about a person from the past and simultaneously get readers interested in overlooked historical figures are aspects of this work that I find incredibly inspirational.

I get up and do something else - clean the house, go for a walk, etc. Sometimes a few days away from a project can help get me focused and refreshed and ready to tackle it all again.
