Pandamorphosis started from my love of and fascination with pandas. Add to that, my real cat's seeming antipathy to my collection of stuffed pandas. "What if," is always a good place to start a story, so I thought: "what if a cat wanted to be loved as much as the pandas, what would she wish for?" And then the story evolved from there.
The idea to make it a wordless picture book also evolved as I worked on fleshing out the story, and made sketches.

I look at my checking account balance, and wonder what it would be like to live in a dumpster.

Set a timer and make an appointment every day to write. Even if it's only for 15 minutes. And read voraciously, both in and out of your preferred genre.

I'm working on Book 5 of the collected Panda Chronicles comics, "Pandapocalypse NOW!" which has all the Princess Pinky and Meihem twins comics to date.
I'm also working on "The Panda Chronicles Cuppycake Cookbook" with Australian author Vicky Vladic. The cuppycake recipes are inspired by characters and events in The Panda Chronicles.
Another project is illustrating a book by Beth Bacon about the twin pandas that were born in the Atlanta Zoo last year.

Getting to work in your P.J.'s without brushing your hair in the morning. No, actually, it's getting to make up worlds where everyone does what you want them to do, although, come to think of it, I do like working in my P.J.'s and very few of my characters actually listen and obey.
I do like making stuff up, though.
