Ellise C. Weaver Is it the money? Is it the fans and their awesome comments? Is it knowing that I have written and completed books? Or perhaps it is the sanity check that it has given me. I don't know...all of the above, I'd say. :)
Ellise C. Weaver I had not intended upon my first book extending into more than one. But after I added certain characters to THE GOVERNESS (Susannah and Hayden), their story evolved into something more all on its own. They HAD to have their chance at a story and for readers to see their love blossom and grow into something beautiful--and thus, PIRATE BRIDE was created. I love it!

And as you see, there are five books now in this saga with many characters having decided that their story also needs telling. I have really enjoyed these characters and seeing their stories come to life. Its been invigorating! Just what I needed. :)
Ellise C. Weaver For me, it always starts with a thought. Something intrigues me, so I expound upon it until it becomes a story.
Ellise C. Weaver I am currently working on Book Three in The Huntington Saga Series Novels--Elspeth Was Her Name. The first two books are available now, and I'm hoping to have this third book completed by this winter 2014.

This book goes back in time to an ancestor that was mentioned in Book One--The Governess.
Ellise C. Weaver Just start. It doesn't matter where. If you already have a scene or a partial scene in your mind, start there. That's what I did. Now, that same scene is in the middle of my first book. I just wrote scene after scene and determined that it went before or after the original scene. Probably not the way you'd learn in school to become a writer, but it has worked beautifully for me.

Also, keep writing. Once you have published a book, your readers will be excited about reading something from you again. Just keep writing!

Set goals and accomplish them. Example, I will write 1,000 words Monday - Friday. Or set a publishing date and keep up the pace in order to accomplish that goal.

There are so many things you can do. Don't get discouraged. Think positive! Think--I can do this! And then DO IT! :)
Ellise C. Weaver I don't know. I've never had it. But I would say that if I did have it, I would immerse myself in the kind of reading I love the most. Kind of a "Take me away--Calgon moment". I think when we enjoy life, enjoy reading (because I would think all authors would be voracious readers. Just goes hand in hand, in my opinion), and enjoy wonderful stories, we are inspired in what we love about our own creation process. Go for it!
