The Shire! I want to see Baggins End, walk around and see all the different hobbit holes, and maybe even talk to Gandalf, who would be walking by. I might even want to buy my own place because, even though I love adventures.... I would want to have a nice place to come home to.

I ignore it. I write even if I feel blocked. Sometimes that day's work isn't good and I have to throw it out later, but I worked--or maybe slogged--through it.

Everything that happens to you--good or bad--is possible material that you can make use of. Someone is rude to you? Perfect material. Trouble with your boss? It goes into the next novel, disguised, of course.

Currently I'm working on the third Andy Veracruz novel in which the hero goes to Mexico.... where things also don't work out the way he's expecting them to!

Usually I get an idea for a story and then I run with it. Once I start on a new project, I try to write every day until it's done. Then I have to go back and edit, but that's a different skill that I can do at different times.
