The forgotten Hyborian Age! The age after the sinking of Atlantis! I would bring my ax, and adventure with the Cimmerian known only as Conan. I would adventure by his side, and fight evil men & monsters back to back... Also get into tavern fights, and tell tall tales of our adventures by the hearth.

I would say Tanis and Laurana from the Dragonlance series. Both are equal partners, and fight together side by side. Neither considers themselves better than the other, and are perfect equals. Beats the damsel in distress dynamic.
