First Maker Lores
Hi John, thank you for the great question! The entire KAAL series actually started from a very vivid nightmare I had. In the dream, I was trapped in this highly isolated, eerie university where bizarre and unexplainable things kept happening. The core rumor in that nightmare was that an ancient vampire was entombed deep beneath the campus, and his dark magic was slowly seeping into the grounds above.
When I woke up, I couldn't stop thinking about that eerie atmosphere. I started writing just to explore that single spooky concept, but as I kept world-building, it organically expanded into a massive dark fantasy universe. Right now, only the first two books (Kissing An Endless Lie and Memories and Empty Vow's End) are out, which set the stage at Ravencroft University. But the lore goes so much deeper than what you see on the surface, and the upcoming books will explore the true scale of that nightmare. I hope you enjoy the journey!
