This is addressed only to aspiring writers who are Christian, and is therefore, not for everyone.
Seek God, find out what He would like you to write about. His plans for your life are far more specific than you can imagine. "Seek and you will find" is not an empty promise. He planted the passion for writing in you, and it is not without purpose. I can certainly testify to that!
Unlike most, I was an aspiring artist and an unexpected writer. I wrote because I grew increasingly aware that this was God's idea and felt the responsibility to be obedient. I went along for an adventure in a medium of expression that I had no prior experience in. It was easy to tell His story because He was the reason it was worth telling! I had nothing to commend me.
If you are an aspiring writer, He can inspire, guide and direct you through the writing process, regardless of what He calls you to write, or how inept you feel at the moment. He certainly proved to me that He could govern all aspects of getting a book published because I was as complete a novice as you can imagine. Art was my passion and an arena I felt comfortable in. The idea of writing quite frankly intimidated me! I'm sure that you've heard that God rarely calls the qualified, as much as He qualifies the called. I certainly fell in the "unqualified and called"category! All I possessed was a willingness to engage in the process.
If writing is your passion and you are skilled at it, make sure that God is included in all aspects of your writing. Great ideas that are your own are not nearly as powerful as inspired ideas that come from Him. Take the time to wait for them in faith, trusting that He will make them plain to you. If He could get me to heed, He can anyone!
Another wonderful benefit of approaching your writing, or any creative endeavor, in this manner by leaning upon Him for guidance and direction, is that He will work on your behalf to complete your feeble attempts and overcome your limitations. Working in union with Him should be the only way for any aspiring writer eager for lasting fruit from the endeavor.
