Write. Don't make excuses, just write. The first things you write will be terrible. so will the second and the third, but over time. Write for yourself. Write to make yourself happy. Over time you will find your voice, that unique perspective that will become your style. Enjoy the process. Live it.

I am finishing Byproduct, the long awaited (by me) sequel to my first novel Product. There is a lot that happens and hopefully when people finally get to read it, they will forgive me for the very long pause between the first book and the second.

I hide. I run and I hide... Actually. I try two things. I pull myself out of the story completely. I do something else, play with my kids, watch a movie, read a different genre... Then I go back, and if my head still doesn't feel fresh i force it. I write and write and write and most of it is garbage I know I will through away, but eventually after wading through muck, I find a seed of something. A small glowing little ember that I can nurse into a growing fire...
