I'm a very visual person. I tend to picture a scene or a metaphor that triggers an avalanche of words. I also need peace and quiet. I am very sensitive to sound and I write best when I am on my own with a cup of coffee and free of distractions. When I write poetry I try to meditate on what is most alive within me during the day. Whether it is a feeling, an image or a message I want to put out there.

The book I am currently writing is based on my personal experiences surrounding my father's passing. It was a turning point in my life and as the years rolled on , I've got to thinking about the impact of family legacies and the struggle to break out of moulds built over generations. Particularly around notions of masculinity.
