Hi, Mance. Yes it was. However, the statement was that the human form "always" results from carbon based evolution, but instead that it was a more common outcome that some might expect. Not humans exactly, but the overall balance to two legs and two arms for mobility, opposable thumbs with higher level dexterity, and increasingly larger brains.

I've always loved the Caribbean, which is where much of the Breakthrough story takes place. And Trinidad and Tabago were perfect locations for that particular part of the story.
