Not very far. I like modern conveniences. I'd rather travel to the future! I love medieval times, but I'd hate to stay there long, ew!

A musical. Any musical. I love to sing!
Tara Tyler
Music is one of my biggest inspirations. I even wrote a zombie love story inspired by a song (Comeback by Redlight King)! I usually have a song that goes with each story I write. In general, High Hopes by Panic at the Disco was a great motivator (I used it at my recent presentations) Right now, my favorite inspirational song is Connection by OneRepublic. And the latest song that inspired me to write a short story is Sunflower by Post Malone.

I could talk about anything from world-building, character or story development, and anything to do with writing/publishing to teaching and math strategies to family management, organization, and relationships... and probably more! I love to talk =)

I will bring Simulation and Disposal when I come again. I also donated Broken Branch Falls from my other series, Beast World, to the library you might like. =)

and now I have a couple for you—Have you had a chance to read Simulation after Pop Travel? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the stories.

Wow, very deep question!
it would be my cousin Melissa who died in a car accident when she was a senior in high school. she was beautiful inside & out, had so much potential and was a great person. it was a terrible tragedy
thanks again for the questions I’m definitely going to use them !

That was a tough one. I usually go against the crowd like I was not a big fan of the Twilight series and definitely did not like Fifty Shades of Grey that was so popular. I like a lot of science-fiction and fantasy and that’s not always popular with others, but it definitely has a big following

Since I have three sons, writing the opposite gender is not that difficult for me. Though there are gender differences, they are aren’t that important most of the time. Personality is what you want to capture when you’re writing.

The hardest scenes for me to write in any of my books are battle scenes or fight scenes — they’re hard to describe !

I love reading sci fi, fantasy, and thrillers. But I great authors will keep me reading their stuff. Favorite authors -- Michael Crichton, Piers Anthony, and Janet Evanovich, plus many more. I also have many writer friends who have broadened my interests.

Of course I remember you. I'm so glad you like my books!
Thank you for your questions, you are very sweet!
My writing process -- I get a general idea, then I outline a rough plot, then I write a first draft and keep adding details until it's ready to send to my readers who help me polish it.
Favorite thing to do besides writing -- playing card and board games with my family =)
Favorite color -- purple
My main characters are usually a mixture of people I know, characters from books and movies, and a little bit of myself. As the story progresses, they come alive and I discover more about them than I realized!

Rhett and Scarlet are my favorite fictional couple. Yes, I went old school. They're both such strong personalities, fiercely independent and passionate. Their love burns hot, but they each feel the need to be in control, so their conflict is just as fiery. A happy ending was never in their future, with so much emotional electricity, their relationship was destined to explode!

Yes! I'm working on CRADLE ROCK, the next Beast World book after BBF. Gabe and Ona seek out if humans really existed - and find more than they bargained for! There will be some new fun places and characters, too. Thanks for asking =)

Usually I get away from it. I write something else, or read, or get out of the house. Inspiration for new writing spills over to conquer the block. If it's a small block, I ask myself questions like, what could possibly happen here? And I choose a segue that the reader might not suspect! Writer's Block is just a signal that you need to take a break.

I get to share stories. People think of and live great stories and adventures all the time, but only a writer can put it into words in such a way that they can be shared with the masses... I love lifting spirits with my stories. And when I hear people like my books/writing, it's the best!

Learn everything you can, make it your own, and write. And keep writing. And keep reading and learning. And after making it through all the rejections, there will be one yes. And you'll still have to learn some more and work even harder! It's a tough business, but you have to love it!
