I wrote my book "She's All Caught Up" after being apart of a prison outreach group. The goal of the group was to deter at-risk youth from committing crimes. As we told our stories of what led to our incarceration, our audience of teens became hooked in. After listening to our stories, many of them vowed to stay on the right track and avoid our tragic mistakes. Watching this happen, inspired me to turn my life story into a book. I figured by writing my story I could reach even more people. It is my goal to be a real-life example that can make a difference!

Meditation and prayer help to inspire me greatly. I ask for assistance from the Holy Spirit. My goal is to write messages that will encourage God's people to over come life's difficulties. Therefore, I seek His hand for help. As I allow myself to decrease, I find that God's spirit increases, and He uses me as a vessel to complete His greater work.

I am working on the sequel to my book "She's All Caught Up." This book is entitled "The Trade Off." I introduce readers to the events that took place in my life from 17 years old to 31, when I started my 12 1/2 year sentence in federal prison. Writing this book has not been easy. It forces me to dig up some very painful moments in my life. Nonetheless, this experience has caused me to grow, which is uplifting!

Never give up, and keep on writing! The more you write, the better you will become. Don't be afraid of what others will think about what you create. Instead, freely pour out your true feelings and expressions, and watch your words come to life!

The gift of writing empowers me, because it allows me to effectively communicate my thoughts and experiences. It is also an outlet for release. Instead of keeping my emotions trapped inside, I am able to release my feelings on paper and share them with the world. This ability has turned writing into a lifestyle that invigorates, rejuvenates and inspires me. It is one of the greatest gifts a being can have!

I like to meditate and recapture good memories in my mind. When I have pleasant thoughts and become in tune with spirit, it helps to inspire me to write. I make it a point not to pick up my pen until I am inspired. That is when I produce my best work!
