You’re right. In order to write that series, I had to build some pretty elaborate backstories for all of the characters. That history made their motivations richer and more real on the page as I pulled from it and alluded to certain things. But there was no way to include all of that stuff without risking the novels becoming bogged down in too much detail. My idea for a prequel starts with Rhane as a young boy—before he ever inherits the mighty Banewolf—fighting his way from outcast to warlord.

I want to re-read Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie. It's an old favorite!

I wish my life were that interesting, but sadly it's not! ...Or maybe that is a good thing...

I've thought about this for days and have finally decided that my favorite couple would have to be Kier and Xylara from the Warprize series. They were the perfect blend of civil and savage, coming together from two very different worlds, but their love managed to overcome every obstacle. I think Kier also may have been my first book crush!

(view spoiler)[Hi Lena! Great questions! Yes, there absolutely will be a second book to continue Ethan and Davey's story. It's still in the planning phase, but I will post updates to my Facebook/Twitter/Blog as things progress, so keep an eye out :). As for Davey's humanity...you'll have to wait and see exactly how much she's been changed...that will be a big part of the next book's story. And yeah, Ethan remembering Davey was definitely not supposed to happen. But their love was strong enough to overcome GC's meddlesome programming. The next book will address whether Ethan actually breaks protocol to be with her and the repercussions thereof. (hide spoiler)]

The events of this new story stem from the climax of Primed Son, though Primed Son does not have to be read in order understand the plot of this new book. This new novel completely stands on its own. It's kind of like things are happening in the same character universe but much farther down the timeline.

Coffee. Lots of coffee. It really is writer fuel.

Stop talking about doing it and just do it. But do so because you love telling a story and not for money or to follow some trend.

I love being able to let my imagination run wild, creating characters/worlds/stories for people who enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them. And that people from all parts of the planet get to read those words and become connected to me, I think, that's a great feeling too!

I'm currently working on a paranormal romance with all kinds of exciting new creatures. It will be a series, but the timeline won't be like as in the Dark Siren series where each book has to be read sequentially. Expect lots of danger in this new one, plenty of action, lust, romance and everything between, as well as the in-depth characters and their exciting story arcs that my readers have come to love.

I haven't experienced writer's block yet!
