Dee Ann Waite Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. I loved the energy between them, the pure love they felt for each other that went way beyond the lust of today's society. It was deep, pure, and savage for the confines of their own societal trends. Genuinely beautiful.
Dee Ann Waite Hi Marion, thanks for the question. Yes, I believe my inside knowledge of the crime world has helped me a great deal. It has allowed me to speak on the subject as well as write on it, and offered several distinct opportunities to meet prominent people in the law enforcement, which of course, has advanced my knowledge even further. Crime is a terribly dark world, and not one I like to stay behind the scenes in for any length of time, but learning about it is an amazing eye opening experience. My recent studies are on psychopathy and sociopathy - two areas that intrigue me immensely.

With your past experience, I bet you'll have endless subjects / cases to write about. Be sure to learn the craft of writing well. An interesting story doesn't necessarily mean a saleable book. If there is anything I can do to assist, please let me know. I know many great and talented people in this industry who are also willing to help new authors. :)

I wish you all the best.

Dee Ann Waite My inspirations usually come after deep conversations with friends, family, and even strangers. If the subject stays with me long after its over, I eventually turn it into a story. The Consequential Element, for instance, came about after having a conversation with a woman friend who had no idea of the situation between China's monopoly on rare earth elements and the affects it is having on the security of the United States, as well as the 'butterfly effect' throughout the world.

Around this same time, I met a woman from the Congo who was an actual survivor of a rebel raid on her village. We talked at great lengths about her capture, survival, and eventual escape. She is an amazing woman and the epitome of strength, courage, and faith.

These subjects would not release me until I wrote them down. Hence, the evolution of The Consequential Element.
Dee Ann Waite I'm currently working on a psychological thriller. Sorry, but I can’t say much more than that, for the moment. You understand. But I will tell you that you will come away from it with a whole new take on psychopaths and how they affect the world around you.
Dee Ann Waite Thanks, Terry! Actually, the swamp gators were the inspiration for the location of my second novel, Mists of Bayou Rhyne (soon to be released). The setting is the Mississippi bayou. I live along the east coast of FL and spend time in the Everglades taking photos and searching for gators and other tropical critters. I'm originally a northerner, so this southern environment is exciting to me.
