Jo Jenner Make sure you are as good as you can be. Writing is not about just putting words on a page. You need to be able to tell a story and then after that you need to be an editor, a marketeer, a publisher and many other things.
It is unlikely that writing will make you rich so make sure you enjoy the process of writing and that you get joy from it.
Jo Jenner I have had major health problems in the last year and there is nothing out there to explain my condition. I am going to document what happened to me and what I know now that I wish I had known at the start of my illness.
Hopefully it will help someone else with a similar problem.
Jo Jenner I have a story in my head and I keep getting stuck on the next stage. So I write what I know and then there is space in my head for the next part of the story to develop.
Jo Jenner I sit down and write. I move away from the thing I am stuck on and write a piece of flash fiction or a diary entry. Anything to get words onto a page. I take my mind away from the problem and before I know it the answer has popped into my head.
It is important to remember you don't have to write in the order you publish. If you are stuck on one chapter move onto the next and come back when you feel ready.
