I have several projects on the go right now. I need variety when I'm writing. When I become bored with one manuscript, ie the characters are flat, the dialogue isn't refreshing, I turn to another manuscript. My three works are tentatively titled:
The Burden of Proof -- a romance that takes place on one of the Greek islands.
The Time of the Generals -- a historical fiction about events of Greece's military occupation from 1967-1974 and the Toronto gay scene in the early 1970s.
Luck of the Draw -- a fictional drama depicting the rise and fall of a relationship between the protagonists who win a lottery ticket on the fateful day of 9/11

I don't believe in writer's block. What I believe is that when I can't focus on writing it's about lacking motivation, I'm feeling lazy, or I'd rather just wash the floors. The ideas are all there, ready to come out. I just need to sit myself down and do it. So discipline is key to successful writing. Write every day, even if what you've written sounds mundane or isn't going anywhere. One day you will find the nugget in what you've written and your world of story-telling will come alive.

I've always been interested in superstitious explanations of ordinary occurences. The evil eye is one of these and I've built an entire psychological thriller around it, All the Evil Scatters.
