Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Book three is still in the works. I want to give you guys a great ending to this story. As of now, it looks like it will be releasing at the beginning of 2018.

Thanks so much for wanting to read PERFECTED. This is a tricky question to answer because I don't really know what your mother is fussy about. I can tell you that my own 13-year-old daughter has read my book, but I might have different standards than your mom. I know many people your age that have read it, but to be safe, you might ask your mom to read it first and see if she thinks it's all right for you.

First of all, thank you for rescuing a copy of PERFECTED from the wild and taking it home with you (even if you devoured it once you got it there). I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. The sequel is scheduled to come out next fall, although I'm not sure I'm allowed to divulge any secrets about it just yet. Needless to say, there WILL be more Penn and Ella. So don't fret.

Sorry to kill you a little inside ;) My favorite books have endings that are bittersweet, and I suppose that's what I was trying to do with PERFECTED. Hopefully the second book will be worth the wait!!!

To explain why I wrote Perfected you first have to understand that I’ve been an animal lover ever since I saw my first pony at the carnival when I was two. I’ve been a mini zookeeper ever since. At the moment, I have three dogs, two ducks, a bunny and we're babysitting a snake for my son's biology teacher. The dogs are like tiny shadows. Especially my dachshund who is constantly in my periphery (if not underfoot or on my lap). I’ve always assumed that my animals were happy (even lucky) to have me for an owner to shower love and affection on them, but the writer in me wasn’t totally satisfied with this idea. She saw a story inside them. So in my mind, the next obvious step between having dogs for pets and wondering if they were happy with their lives was wondering what it would be like to BE a pet. Bing! An idea was born. What if people were pets? What if I were given the choice between a life of idle luxury and freedom, which would I choose?
