My sequel to The Sandpiper titled: Behold A Rainbow. It picks up the characters I love in The Sandpiper five years later. The Sandpiper ended before I knew it would - the characters just did that! But then I needed to find out what happened after that emergency ride to the hospital. So Jamie and Kate and Ellie are showing me what has gone on in their lives since and where they are now. They even brought a murder into this sequel!!!!

For fiction writing it is the chance for a pure kind of empathy because you become the character whose head you are in. In The Sandpiper, I came to a whole new level of understanding about alcoholism through Jamie, about infertility through Kate, and early widowhood through Ellie.
