Declan Clarke Getting lost in the story, definitely. I love when a story begins, crafting the outline and the main characters. once this is done the story becomes a very real part of everyday life. Often in a meeting or at a social gathering you come across a phrase or an expression and you can see how it works for a character
Declan Clarke Ah yes, the block. sitting in front of a screen with the cursor winking blankly at me. For me the best way is to get up, go outside and take the phone with me and record the story. I find that telling the story, out loud, really helps to bring it to life. The characters are freer and the action more vibrant. a ten minute recording can fill many pages of text
Declan Clarke Currently working on a number of really exciting projects.

Teamed up with illustrator Kieran Ryan, Merryman, to complete ''Vinnie the Mole and the Baby Dragon'' a story for younger readers. Kieran really brought this story I wrote a couple of years ago to life with his insightful drawings. Love the way he depicts Vinnie and the other characters.

Also turning my hand to a graphic novel with Jack Clarke - Kane - a dark story centred around the eternal battle between good and evil, only in this tale of warriors it is evil that battles a more malevolent force.
