I like this world the best and most of what I read have to do with this earth. As a child, I loved the chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

I lived in a haunted house and the ghost lived in my bedroom. I wanted to know the history of the ghost and what happened to it when the house was torn down

I have always loved writing and reading, but I guess I cannot call myself a writer yet. My main job is a nurse practitioner. I try to write on the side. Perhaps some day I will be a bonafide writer.

Just start writing.
I always tell aspiring writers to read the book, Bird by Bird by Ann Lamott. It is wonderful, practical, and funny. She says that first drafts and even second and third drafts are always terrible. That gives me so much hope when staring at a pretty poor excuse for a piece of writing.

I am writing a novel about a dialysis unit. It is going slowly because I am not writing regularly as I need to be doing.

Good question. I am always inspired to write, but don't take the time as I should to work to get it down on paper. I don't think inspiration is the right question. The question I am trying to answer in my life is how do I discipline myself to sit down regularly and consistently even when I am not inspired?

My son has 22Q deletion which is almost as common as Down Syndrome, but no one has heard of it, including medical professionals, teachers, therapists and other people who care for these individuals. It wasn't until my son was in his early teens that we discovered that the cause of all his problems was a tiny missing piece of chromosome. I think at that moment, I thought that I would write a book to increase awareness of the syndrome, but nothing came of that idea until my son set himself on fire during a time of psychosis. I wrote e-mail updates to my friends about his progress or lack thereof at times, and a few friends encouraged me to write a book. As I started writing, I realized that the burn was only a chapter in the perilous journey of his life so far.
