I go to another point in the story. If I'm stuck in one place, I go to somewhere fresh and get those words down...even if they are at the end of the story. At least I'm making progress even if it's not chronological.

It depends on the forum. For example, my blog The Bridge Project is more stream of consciousness. When something triggers a thought, I can sit down and write freely to my two grandsons, as if writing them a letter.

Most authors know that inspirations for stories can come from the most unusual places. In the case of Last Laugh, the actual seed for the story is revealed on the very last page of the book and revolves around a specific event and date in American history. I learned of the date and its significance from a couple with whom my husband and I used to cruise on our sailboat. This kernel of information took root and, from that, the concepts blossomed.
