Shirleen Davies Hi J,
Jace and Caroline don't have a book...yet. I'm writing book 9 in the series and am considering introducing a scenario that would allow them their own story. I'm so glad you enjoyed Second Summer and hope you enjoy the other books in the series as much. Thanks for taking the time to contact me! Shirleen
Shirleen Davies Gosh, I wish I could answer this affirmatively, but I have too many that I love. And they cross sub-genres running through contemporary romance, romantic suspense, historical western romance, and others!
Shirleen Davies Hi LInda,

It is actually my second career. For much of my life I was in the corporate world doing consulting and traveling. I always wanted to write, had many stories in my head, and finally got the chance a few years ago to put them on paper (or computer). Creating fictional characters my readers enjoy has now become a passion and I wouldn't do anything else.

Thanks so much for your question,
Best to you,
Shirleen
Shirleen Davies I'm not certain there is one best thing about being a writer. There is so much to love about it.
1. The freedom that comes with putting stories on paper.
2. The enormous opportunities available today for publishing - traditional, self-publishing, and hybrid.
3. The ability to have a voice in the publishing process which didn't exist several years ago.
4. The wonderful readers and other authors I've met during this journey.
5. The constant learning which accompanies being an author. It's never boring!

These are just some of the reasons I love it.
Shirleen Davies I started writing years ago. Primarily short stories and romantic suspense novels. It’s been just the last few years that I’ve had time to complete and publish my books. I seem to come up with stories which simply push me to write them. So far, I haven’t experienced typical writer’s block as each day I wake up ready to move on with my current writing projects.
Shirleen Davies Keep writing and don’t ever give up. It’s a process. Writers need to filter the good from the bad advice, and just keep writing.

Also, don’t believe there is just one path to publishing. Authors no longer are plagued with just one choice of getting their stories in front of readers. Legacy publishers, self-publishing, or a hybrid approach make it possible for any good writer to get their book out to the public.
Shirleen Davies I seem to come up with stories which simply push me to write them. So far, I haven’t experienced typical writer’s block as each day I wake up ready to move on with whatever current story I’m writing. One More Day is the third book in my new contemporary series, MacLarens of Fire Mountain Contemporary, and it rolled out of an idea which popped into my head while writings books one and two. I’ve always admired the individuals who commit their time in Search and Rescue (SAR), whether paid or volunteer. The duties require specific skills and dedication which is admirable. It seemed a natural progression of the characters for Cam Sinclair to volunteer in this type of community organization.
Shirleen Davies My current project is a new historical western romance series set just after the Civil War. The series is called Redemption Mountain and book one is titled Redemption’s Edge. Book one will release in October of this year and follows the stories of various men and women who come through the war to find the world they left no longer exists.

I’m also working on book four of my contemporary series, which follows One More Day. It is titled All Your Nights, and is the story of Brooke and Kade.
