I have a few different ways I get inspired. When it comes to new stories I take a hike or a trip and let my mind clear. It wakes up the characters. When I am in the middle of a project and I have a couple hours to jump right in I will turn on a playlist I have customized for that particular book.

Your story is important and no matter how difficult it can be you would regret giving up so just find a special spot or song that inspires you and get words on the page. It may come out fractured and need a lot of work to make it ready for readers but take it one step at a time and keep pushing, you will be glad you did.

Because I work on so many projects simultaneously I rarely have true writer's block. If one or two books are refusing to cooperate I will simply try a different story until one clicks. If by chance none of my characters are feeling talkative that day I will either work in the yard or go to the gym. I have found that for me doing something physical can clear my mind and make the creative connection easier to grasp.

I wanted to write a series but I needed something with multiples to draw inspiration from so I looked into things like the circles of hell and the deadly sins. Ultimately the sins spoke to me so I decided to create a series based on the Seven Deadly Syns.

The thing I love most about being a writer is having the opportunity to create a world and set of characters that I myself would love to be a part of. I get to learn about the people in my stories, share their experiences and be a part of their universe while letting others into their secret places like a mystic tour guide.

Right now I am working on editing both my Nanowrimo projects from 2013 and 2014 while also writing a drama and a romance. I am hoping to submit all of them in the early part of 2015.
