I see things daily that inspire me, snippets of a great conversation, a person who looks as though they deserve space on a page, or I wake up with a piece of a story that jars me. It's rare for me to have an entire story idea. I typically take these tasty morsels and let them percolate into their full potential.

I could make a long list of what I love about being a writer. I suppose the biggest benefit is that I can work anywhere. When inspiration strikes, I can grab a pen or the computer and get to work.

Wow, I'm struggling with this currently. I know where the story is going, the characters are making noise, but I'm having trouble moving forward. I have been able to work on other stories and I'm toying with the idea of starting at the end. I wrote the last chapter first in this novel. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm currently working on the sequel, The Esau Convergence, but I have three or four novels in the works waiting for attention.

The idea started with one particular scene between the main characters, Sebastian and Cordelia. I knew where I thought the story should go, and while I enjoy Sci Fi and Fantasy stories, I also like stories based on real science. Hundreds of hours of researching and many discussions with people in the field helped me build the scientific premise for the plot.
