Jo-Marie Walking down the street wearing loose pants, my belt broke. Got lots of unexpected attention.
Jo-Marie First I'd go to a hollow tree in Vermont, Adi's World. I'd spend a few days chatting with Adi and her friends, especially Michael.

Then I'd visit Middle Earth and enjoy the Shire, Rivendell, and Lothlorien.
Jo-Marie This summer's reading list will be a combination of fiction and nonfiction. I will, of course, continue my daily Bible reading. Right now I'm in the Gospel of John. I will also continue with my two devotionals.

My nonfiction list includes Break into Fiction, How to Make Your Book Sound Good, Understand Show Don't Tell, & How to Write a Sizzling Synopsis.

My fiction list (so far) includes middle-grade fiction books (my favorite writing genre): The Supernatural Adventures of Ryan Bumble, and the first two Thomas Holland Series books.

Mainly I will be reading and rereading Life's Journey which is my newest project, the prologue to the Adi's World Saga. It will be shared with all readers of my Adi's World Newsletter. If you want a copy (when it's ready), you can join the group at: www.josjourney.com.

Happy reading everyone!
Jo-Marie My life hasn't been much of a mystery so I doubt you'd get a good plot from it. I'm more of a dreamer, seeing myself in other settings. This probably why I write realistic fiction in fantasy settings.
Jo-Marie I really don't have a favorite couple, but my favorite duo would be Frodo & Sam from the Lord of the Rings.
Jo-Marie I hate to admit it, but I clean and move furniture. (Don't tell, okay?)
Jo-Marie For me, the best thing about being a writer is hearing from a reader who has enjoyed the book.

I love to write and now I get to visit schools and share my passion with students. It's great!
Jo-Marie To everyone who ever wanted to write.... Just do it! If I can, so can you. Life's a journey. Live your dreams.
Jo-Marie I've always loved making up characters and plots in my head. I just never thought I could write a book.

Then a few years ago my 5th-graders challenged me to do what I always told them to do....Live your dreams!

Thanks to them, I am now an author. And I love it!
Jo-Marie My newest book, Life's a Journey, was inspired by students that I met while doing school author visits. They often asked where my tiny characters came from. My answer was always that I'd share that in the series prologue. I have finally done that! You can get a free copy of the prologue by signing up for the Adi Newsletter at: www.josjourney.com

The idea for Living the Secret developed as I wrote Adi's World. The characters of Ayden and Jayden just grew. They have their own story to tell and Living the Secret is their chance to tell it.

The idea for Adi came to me over 30 years ago when I was walking my dogs. I saw a tree that was rotting from the inside. I stuck my head in (not a smart move, by the way) and thought that a hollow tree would make a great setting for a story. And it did!

The last two books in the first Adi's World series are actually one long story. It shares how the young heroes face trememdous problems and survive through believing in the positives and teamwork.
