Two things, actually. One is a collection of short stories that I wrote years ago and am just now putting out to the public in a series called The Pirates of Kilgore: Incipiens. The other is a full length novel based on the characters of these stories, simply titled - The Pirates of Kilgore.

Write your stories and save them. You never know when an earlier work might become your current project. After twenty years of being kicked around in a binder, my first stories are now coming together in one volume.

The best thing for me is hearing that someone enjoyed my book. Reviews are awesome, especially when they are from someone I don't know. Even bad reviews can give me a lift if they are critical enough to show me my weaknesses.

Honestly, I haven't really experienced true writer's block. If I am at a loss at where the story is going, I give it a day and while doing something else, my mind wanders to the story and an epiphany usually occurs where I see the story take a whole new direction.

Deadlines help :) but once I get into writing, I keep the train of thought going, otherwise I begin to flounder and I lose track of where the story is heading.

The Adventures of Phineas Frakture - Steam Wars is a follow-up to the first book, which continues the stories where Phineas left off. I wanted him to go on a solo journey of discovery where he had to rely more upon himself than with his support group of friends.
