Wizards usually(not always) need a focus of some kind...think wand or staff etc. Mages are the focus in the M&S world. No wands needed.

I dont really have a favorite fictional couple. Maybe the context would help? Romance? Action Thriller? If i have to go in my preferred genre I would have to say Holmes & Watson.

My most recent book came from an idea of having two of my favorite character types working together...a detective and a mage. Since I am a die hard Sherlock fan as well as huge Dresden fan I wondered what would happen if these two had to work together? That became Tombyards & Butterflies.

I read a lot and leave myself open to new ideas. Also I outline my books and that makes it impossible for me to be blocked. I have a map. Many times (all the time lol) I deviate from the map but the outline prevents any kind of blocking.
