Right now I'm spending all my free time in the garden, but I want to get to these two soon: Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer and My Favorite Thing is Monsters by Emil Ferris.

According to 23andMe, genetically I am 2.7% Sub-Saharan African. I knew nothing about this background from my family, and would love to know the story of my African ancestor, who came into the family between 1820-1880.

Hi Lesle!
I received the order and sent it out yesterday (Friday). You should get them by Monday. Thank you so much! I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to do more issues, even as a yearly project, but I'm a "one woman show" and am trying to figure out how to market and promote so readers will know it's out there. I put the cart before the horse in my enthusiasm and love for the subject matter!
We have a little snow left. Most has melted, giving this landscape much needed water which we are all so grateful for, especially the trees. It's sunny, as is usual for Colorado. The birds are singing, plants are beginning to grow; it's going to be a beautiful day this Saturday. Have a great weekend, Lesle; I hope the sun comes out for you in Ohio!

They were in the mailbox when I got home. I was a bit nervous when the packaging was ripped and taped all over, but luckily all was well inside. Love

I don't believe in it, so for me it doesn't exist! Honestly, everyone has tough moments, and certainly self-conscious moments, but if you just write, and not worry about what you're writing, you can get through it and get into the zone.

Connecting with readers, sharing your imagination and ideas. As a writer, life is never, ever boring. Being a writer ideally makes you look at the world with curiosity, compassion, wonder, and a desire for constant growth. I can think of no better way to spend one's life.

Write as much as you can and don't be held back by perfectionism. I also want to say, self-publish your work! Blogs are nice, but it's better (IMHO) to do a CreateSpace book and it's affordable. These are the days when it's finally easy to get your work out there in the world! Celebrate it!

I'm working on promoting the books I've published in the last few years - my young adult novel Zera and the Green Man (about GMOs and a teen's magical connection to the plant world, my Greenwoman magazines (six issues, released as books on CreateSpace), and Fifty Shades of Green. I also have a blog, Flora's Forum, and I'm a staff writer for US Represented. I WISH I had time to start another novel, but for now I'm just gathering notes for my next YA book.

I am easily inspired. Anything that intrigues me, that makes me want to dig deeper into the subject, is something that's worthy of writing about. Luckily, I have a lot of interests and a lot of curiosity (and a lot of passions)!

The most recent book from Greenwoman Publishing is Fifty Shades of Green. I originally thought I'd like to try writing a book as an answer to Fifty Shades of Grey, featuring a strong female protagonist who is the "dominant" in a SMBD relationship. That idea turned out not to be enough for me and I thought it'd be fun to do an anthology instead. What we have is a book of stories, written by almost authors in America and Britain, about sex in the garden (with, of course, female characters who are the ones in "control." It turned out to be a LOT of fun! You can read more about it on the website: http://www.gardenshorts.com
