It's a combination of different things I love, and the idea that I wanted a challenge. I had never written anything like this before, but I was really excited about the idea and wanted to do it.

It's called "Ordained", and this is actually the rewrite of the original short story version, turning it into a novel length work.

The first draft of anything is crap. Rewriting and editing is essential. Also, study books that will offer you techniques to improve as a writer. Sift through it to find the gems, and create a notebook of notes for you to use as a quick reference guide.

I generally have a plot outline a head of time, or know my ending if working on the plot outline. Knowing where you plan to go helps in getting there. For the days that word traffic is slow, I usually go play softball or take the dogs for a walk while mulling it over. The rubber duck theory works well here as well.
