By thinking on the plot, preferably walking on a place like a park full with trees. But I also get inspired while I'm writing and following a predetermined plot; when suddenly realize that there is a much better way to do some things I had planned.

There are so many advices out there, but maybe the best one would be: simply accept the fact that it takes a great deal of effort and time in order to produce something worth publishing. Much more than inspiration, a book is a result of a journey.
So, if you are lazy and don't like the idea of rewriting the same paragraph or chapter hundreds of times, forget it.
