Nancy Fraser Surprisingly, I guess, my world would be not from romances or classics but from comic books. I'd love to go to Asgard and hang out with Thor, Odin, and even Loki (if he's behaving).

Obviously, there is some romance to be had there as well, but I'd probably be more interested in the spectacle, the treasures in Odin's vault, and the bifrost bridge.
Nancy Fraser He worried she wasn't really dead. Especially after seeing the scratches on the inside of the coffin lid.
Nancy Fraser I'm currently reading Jersey Diner (Contemporary) by Diane Kastner. Upcoming books include: Brynnde (Regency) by M Pepper Langlinais, and This Piece of My Soul (Contemporary) by Robyn M. Ryan. After that ... who knows???
Nancy Fraser The idea for my current project, WAKING UP IN OZ, came from a submission call from my publisher. Their new "stranded" series is based on the idea of the hero and heroine stuck together. What better stranded theme is there than Dorothy in Oz?
Nancy Fraser I wake up in the morning. It's as simple as that. At my age, that could be considered a major accomplishment. I see themes all around me. I find it a challenge to turn something not-so-romantic into a love story.
Nancy Fraser I'm in final galley edits on a sci-fi/fantasy romance (I new genre for me). Titled THE VESSEL, it's the story of the love between a career soldier and the alien princess he's assigned to protect.

My current "new" project is a vintage (1970s) re-telling of the Wizard of Oz. WAKING UP IN OZ is a comically romantic look at just how far some will go with an obsession.
Nancy Fraser Get professional opinions on your work. Don't get frustrated because a book your aunt Harriett said was "awesome" won't sell. Keep writing and use the advice you receive from editors/writing professionals to enhance your work.
Nancy Fraser I'd say "the money" but I'd be lying. It's the satisfaction of completing a book, finding a publisher who wants to buy it, and then seeing it available to the public. Good reviews are a nice bonus as well.
Nancy Fraser I genre jump. I usually have 2-3 projects going at the same time (all in different romance genres). When I'm stumped with one, I move to the next. It helps iron out the kinks with the first project.
Nancy Fraser Years ago on my drive home from work I was stopped at a red light late at night. A man stepped in front of my car. I was worried he was going to carjack me or, worse, take out a gun and shoot me. Mentally, I was prepared to run him down. He stuck his hands in his pockets and whipped open his coat to reveal he was stark naked beneath! That incident of "possible" danger was the opening for the very first book I ever sold. COURTING TROUBLE is no longer available (it's over 20 yrs old), but can be found in used bookstores. I'll also be excerpting it through my blog over the summer.
