Courtney Miller Writing. That may sound trite, but, there is so much more to being an author than just writing. You have to deal with publishing and marketing which is not as much fun for me. But I do enjoy book signings and speaking at clubs and libraries where I get to meet the readers. I also enjoy researching the books especially field trips and interviews.
Courtney Miller I have been very fortunate. I have not experienced "writer's block." I can't explain why except that perhaps it is because I waited so long (I was 64) before starting to write in earnest. Another possibility is that I do not get hung up on writing the perfect sentence or paragraph. I am more interested in telling the story.
Courtney Miller My most recent book is "The Raven Mocker's Legacy". The idea naturally follows from the first book, "The First Raven Mocker." The "Legacy" is about what happened to the Raven Mocker and how his children cope with being his son.
I have two new books coming out in 2017 that are part of a new books series--The White Feather Mysteries. The idea for this series comes from the Raven Mocker in the Cherokee Chronicles series. Since White Feather could theoretically live forever, I thought it would be interesting to place him in the small, rural, mountain valley where I currently live and let him use his unique skills to solve mysteries competing with the local sheriff's office.
