D.M. (Dawn) Simpson I have found that my writer's block is usually related to me not writing the book that I should be writing. I generally step back and open my mind and allow the story that is in me to tell it's self. When the story flows and tells it's self there is no writers block. You have to feel what you are writing otherwise you are wasting a lot of your time. Writer's block is your inner writer letting you know you aren't writing what you are supposed to be writing and you have to listen to your inner writer to get past the block.
D.M. (Dawn) Simpson The most recent book is the third book in the series so the idea for this book was already in the works when I finished the first book. My books are a continuation of each of the characters that were introduced in the first book. I wanted to give all of my characters a voice, not just the first two main characters who will appear in all the books through out the series. Some characters may not show up in every book in the series, but they will not be forgotten as well as new characters will be introduced through out the series.
D.M. (Dawn) Simpson The best part is the freedom of the mind to explore the imagination and see what comes out. Most people are so controlled that they have a hard time letting go to explore their own imagination, as a writer you are able to open up your imagination for others to explore and be free with you, even if it is for while they are reading.
D.M. (Dawn) Simpson Write from your heart not your head, it will always flow better that way. When writing you have to put yourself into the story because if it isn't real to you, it won't be real for your readers. Allow your passion to come through.
D.M. (Dawn) Simpson I am currently working on the third and fourth book of my series. Book 3 is in the editing stage and book four is in the 1st draft stage.
D.M. (Dawn) Simpson After reading several other indie authors I found that I was starting to put stories together in my head and finally put them in print. It was an amazing new adventure into myself and my abilities.
