Mark T. Barnes Hi Tanas.

Yes. My agent is currently editing a work where the main characters are humans, and I'm writing another at present.
Mark T. Barnes Hi Dawne.

Apologies for the late reply. I didn't see these questions until this morning.

Publishing is a competitive industry with long lead times, so I can't give you a date for when anything new of mine will be published. However I do have the first of an urban fantasy quartet out with publishers now. My agent is in the process of editing another epic fantasy set in Ia - a new nation and new characters - and I'm writing another Ia epic fantasy at the moment.

Hopefully I'll get offers on books this year, sooner rather than later, and I can let people know more.
Mark T. Barnes Morning, Nick.

Thanks for reading, and I'm glad you're enjoying the story.

There are six more books in the EoE story, though the first trilogy hasn't been popular enough for me to write the remainder of the story as yet. My agent is currently editing another novel set in Ia - in a different nation and with different characters - and I'm in the process of writing another Ia novel at the moment.

If I can get enough of a readership, I'll definitely be completing the EoE story.
Mark T. Barnes Be kind to yourself, and set realistic goals. Research the industry to avoid making the mistakes we've all made getting where we are, and read widely to see what else is out there. Most of all be persistent!
Mark T. Barnes The chance to connect with people across the world, where gender, age, religion, orientation, etc doesn't matter at all.
Mark T. Barnes I don't suffer from it. I think it may be because I usually know what I want to say before I start writing, and also because I have a few ideas progressing at the same time.
Mark T. Barnes I'm working on two projects at the moment. An urban fantasy, and another epic fantasy set in the same world as the Echoes of Empire trilogy.
Mark T. Barnes I love what I do, so it's not a struggle to sit down and put some words together. My inspiration comes from my favourite authors, from world events, from pieces of conversation with friends, etc. The world around us is pretty rich in story ideas that can be modified to what we need.
Mark T. Barnes It was an idea I'd had since writing the Echoes of Empire series, where I wanted to write something from a different perspective, with younger characters who were rougher around the edges, in a different setting. It was inspired by some of the writing of Howard, Moorcock, Lee, de Camp, etc.
